Trevoh Chalobah Expected to Step in for Marc Guehi in England National Team
Trevoh Chalobah followed his brother Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the 21st duo of brothers to play for the England side.
The Chelsea defender is expected to join up with the Three Lions selection to cover for unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is scheduled to link up with the national side for England's last World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, but it has not yet been confirmed.
The national side have already secured qualification for the upcoming tournament.
Chalobah received his first call-up under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then played his first game against Senegal.
In September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unfortunate to be left out from the squad for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and also did not select him for the subsequent October international break.
Tuchel has been an key presence in Chalobah's development, having awarded him his Chelsea first appearance in 2021.
Chalobah has played in nearly all matches for Chelsea this season, with the side occupying third spot in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the Champions League.
Guehi suffered a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar in their last match.
There are likely to be additional additions to the selection. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has said that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) will be unavailable from the England setup.
